Kingston, Jamaica — The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) is proud to announce CVM TV as the exclusive broadcast partner for the 2025 Schoolboy Football Season. This landmark partnership was unveiled at a press conference held at the Summit, promising an electrifying season of Jamaican schoolboy football with unmatched coverage and fan engagement.

CVM TV will deliver live match broadcasts, expert commentary, and in-depth storytelling, bringing fans closer to the action and the athletes who define it.

“This partnership marks a new era for schoolboy football,” said ISSA President Keith Wellington. “CVM TV’s commitment to quality sports broadcasting will elevate the experience for players, schools, and fans islandwide.”

The season kicks off on September 6, when defending Manning Cup champion Kingston College hosts Charlie Smith High, and the DaCosta Cup champions Garvey Maceo High will do battle against Foga Road High.

Manning Cup

• Preliminary Round: 16 teams qualify (Top 3 from each zone + best 4th place)
• Group Stage: 4 groups of 4; top 2 advance
• Knockout Progression: Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Final
  (Each round maintains the group format for consistency and fairness)

DaCosta Cup

• Zone Play:
• Zones with ≤6 teams: Home & away
• Zones with ≥7 teams: Single round robin
• Advancement: Top teams + best-ranked 3rd place finishers
• Knockout Progression: Round of 32 → Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Final
  (Group format continues until final knockout stages)

Garvey Maceo High claimed third place in the ISSA Schoolgirl Football 2025 season after a composed and clinical 3-1 victory over Merl Grove High in the playoff match.

Merl Grove started strongly, with Breanna Marr opening the scoring in the 11th minute to reward her team’s early dominance. Despite the early setback, Garvey Maceo remained calm and stuck to their game plan, gradually growing into the contest. Their persistence paid off in the 38th minute when Sajane Anderson netted the equalizer, bringing the teams level at 1-1 heading into the break.

The second half saw Garvey Maceo shift gears and take control of the match. Their increased tempo and attacking intent paid dividends in the 61st minute as Jully-Ann Howard found the back of the net, giving the Cubanz a deserved lead. Sara Needham then sealed the win in stoppage time with a well-taken goal, putting the result beyond doubt.

Garvey Maceo’s disciplined and determined performance ensured they finished the season on a high note with a 3-1 win and a spot on the podium.

A second-half penalty calmly converted by Destiny Powell in the 49th minute proved to be the difference in a match that balanced tactical discipline with moments of high drama. Holmwood executed a near-perfect counterattacking strategy, creating several clear-cut chances but failing to convert. Their goalkeeper, Brihana Staple, showed great form, frustrating Excelsior’s attacking efforts with a series of impressive saves.
Though Excelsior was the more aggressive side, pushing forward in search of goals, they were often met by a resilient Holmwood backline and keeper. The match remained cagey throughout, but entertaining, as both sides brought intensity and flashes of brilliance.
In the end, Powell’s composure from the spot sealed a hard-fought win for Excelsior, who now celebrate back-to-back titles.
